Here we are again. The last two days have been filled with activities. Yesterday we went on a full-day boat tour, and today we were at Railay Beach (a very popular beach in this region).
About yesterday: The tour was called 'James Bond' because it took us to one of the filming locations of a previous movie. There were also several stops along the route, all of which were breathtakingly beautiful. However, mass tourism has also arrived here, and the whole day felt like a perfectly planned coffee tour - just with a dreamlike backdrop. We traveled from point A to point B on a longtail boat. These famous wooden boats can be seen everywhere in Thailand photos. This took us to a spot in Phang Nga Bay where we could paddle in a kayak. Nora and I skipped this part because we didn't have her life jacket with us. Then we went to the James Bond Rock, then to a floating 'city' (which unfortunately no longer had much originality) for lunch, then to a temple located in the mountains where we could observe monkeys, and finally to a remote small waterfall where we could go swimming.
Summary: The landscape was amazing, but unfortunately, it was way too crowded, which we found very exhausting!
As for today: The minibus picked us up at 10 o'clock to take us to the pier. From there, we continued by longtail boat. Railay Beach can only be reached by boat, and it took us about 40 minutes. Again, there were many people, but luckily we didn't have a program. We just had to be back at the pier by 5 o'clock for the return trip. So we took it easy, splashed around in the beautiful clear water, had lunch in a beachfront restaurant, and took a leisurely walk around the island in the late afternoon.
Summary: Overall, it was very nice, but a bit too crowded for my taste.
PS: The photos this time are labeled so you can see which ones are from yesterday and which ones are from today :-)
