Benelux-Tour 4: Bruges

The day starts late as we only have a few kilometers ahead of us and enjoy a hearty breakfast. Then we set off and have to join the queue for the ferry after only a few kilometers. We pass the time with information about Belgium and Bruges, entries in the diary, beer and fries, which almost cause us to miss the ferry.

Afterwards, we ride many challenging kilometers along the beach, which is partly quite dry. It's exhausting because we constantly have to fight against the wind. Shortly after crossing the Dutch-Belgian border, we take an extensive bathing break at a beautiful beach.

Now we leave the sea behind and head into the interior of Belgium until we finally reach Bruges. We check into the hostel, which actually doesn't deserve this name, have something to eat and then explore the city. Although it is teeming with tourists here, no one can deny that Bruges with its old, ornate buildings, the water and hidden bridges and squares is beautiful. We end the evening in a park with Belgian waffles, Belgian chocolate, Belgian beer and lots of laughter.
