Our first stop is again Tathra, where we spend a few hours at Tathra Beach and sunbathe. Around noon, we drive to Mimosa Rocks National Park. Then we take a detour to the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre and visit the cheese museum. We actually noticed that there are a lot of large meadows with cows and sheep. In Australia, 70% of beef comes from pasture grazing and 30% comes from feedlots. The ratio is similar for dairy cows. In comparison, in Germany, only about 10% of cattle for meat and milk production are kept in pastures.
Now we drive to Bermagui, and on the way there, Dennis spots a turtle on the road. So I turn on the hazard lights and Dennis carries the turtle across the road. It doesn't seem like anything has happened to her so far, but she gets quite scared of us. Arriving in Bermagui, we are thrilled. Our hotel room is one of the nicest ones so far and even has a small balcony. In the evening, we visit the Blue Pool and the beach. The Blue Pool is a natural pool formed by seawater right on the coast. In the evening, we have pizza on our balcony and enjoy a beer at the nearby pub.
