On Friday, I walked the few remaining kilometers to Würzburg. Walking on the western side of the Main river was very pleasant. On the left side, there were soon industrial plants and the forerunners of the big city.
In Würzburg, it was time for another break. The city is very lively this weekend with tourists and locals, but still doesn't feel overcrowded.
Particularly picturesque is the old Main bridge, which is overshadowed by the Marienberg fortress. In addition, the city has several baroque buildings and an old university to offer.
On Sunday, I continued on to Augsburg. From here, I will continue my hike. In the next few days, I will take relaxed stages towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen, my newly set endpoint of the hike.
The insight of the day: I would like to travel the Main river again by bike, which I have now left behind.
Word of the day: Brückenschoppen 😂.
