Australie the Fourth

From 01.01. to 03.28.2023

On June 28, 2022, the last day in Bossow before the trip to Canada, while lying in the pool, we promised each other to fly to Australia in January 2023 to spend at least 3 months there.

The plans for the stay were uncomplicated, only the travel price for the flights and the camper van showed us what horrendous price increases to expect in the tourism industry in the coming years. Cheap retirement time abroad looks different.

Nevertheless, we agree in November where we want to travel and where the focus of the trip will be. We will visit national parks and also stay in places where we enjoy it.

The plane takes off at 10 pm on December 30, 2022, after 12 hours of flight time we land in Singapore, to then continue to Brisbane in another 7 hours. We reach our destination on January 1, 2023 at 7 am, while our relatives, friends and acquaintances are still looking forward to the New Year. We are 9 hours ahead.

We are not tired at first, we can already check in to our hotel room at the Holiday Inn Express Brisbane. After a hot shower, we set off, down to the Brisbane River, always along the promenade to the Brisbane Sign. The residents celebrate the New Year with their families in the giant pool, they have picnics, many jog or ride bicycles or e-scooters. In total, we walked about 18,000 steps, now I'm cooling my feet and treating the blisters on my feet with green tea bags.
