Ironman World Championship 2019 Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i

Yesssss!! He did it!! He crossed the finish line with a time of 9.49 h!! 🙂👍 The day of the ironman was amazing!!
In the morning at 4.45 h, Mick and I took Martin to get his body marked. Finding a parking spot was not too difficult at that time. This year, we found a really good seat to watch the swim start from the side. Wonderful! When we arrived in the dark, it suddenly became bright at 6.00 h. First, the pros started, then the age groupers, the atmosphere was fantastic. We kept meeting some Germans and had conversations with them in between.
On the bike, we only saw Martin twice, as then almost 165 km is driven exclusively outside of the city. But we were able to take great photos and videos of the run. Also of the pros, whom we saw several times. Martin's marathon was awesome with a time of 3:16 h!!
The weather? Hot, the sun was blazing ☀️🌴, the perceived humidity was 85%. Mick and I took 2 breaks at McDonald's, as we could refill our cups there for free 🙂, we cooled down again (air conditioning🙂) and had wifi.
We arrived home at around 20.00 h after we picked up the bike. Sticky, sweaty, stinky, but happy to have experienced this great event once again 🙂!
