Since we experienced exactly that in Listvyanka and the island Olkhon is also very touristy, we decided against this option. So despite all the recommendations, we made our way to Irkutsk main station today after a hearty Blynchiki breakfast. Before that, we watched the McGregor - Mayweather fight in the hostel.

At the station, just before boarding the Trans-Siberian, we tested the Russian Chicken Teriyaki at Subway. Conclusion: Quite edible.

We have only known the journey on the Trans-Siberian Railroad from the sleeping compartments so far. For the shorter trip, we chose the seat reservations. As seen in the picture, it was a relaxed journey as well. Especially the view of the mountains and the lake is absolutely stunning.

When we arrived in Baikalsk (a small town on Lake Baikal with just under 15,000 inhabitants), we still had to find a way to our accommodation, as it is located in a village about 6 kilometers away.
