In order to have enough room for today's longest stage so far, we will start our journey from Augsburg to Bad Tölz at 8:30 am. The first kilometers of the bike path through Augsburg towards Fürstenfeldbruck are mainly characterized by highways and industrial areas. However, everything is on well-developed bike paths and considering that this is a connecting stage for us to the Munich Venice bike path, we can live with it. We both noticed that the Bavarian drivers are very attentive and considerate towards cyclists. Thank you very much!
The landscape is becoming increasingly hilly, our route takes us across meadows and through forests, passing through picturesque villages, all of which are worthy of a postcard. Presumably, unemployment in Bavaria is still significantly lower than in Baden-Württemberg. Today, on Monday, we see NO ONE on the road. The few we see are working at home or in the garden. In Gauting, which we pass through at lunchtime, we observe "school crossing guards", probably consisting of the last dozen unemployed people who have now been assigned to help children safely navigate traffic. We think this is a great idea! On this occasion, we realize that the children can already apply the basics of good manners, as every child who runs past the school crossing guard across the street shouts a cheerful "Thank you" to them.
Today we are wiser. At the sight of the dark clouds after our lunch break in Wolfratshausen, we immediately made our luggage weatherproof and put on our rain capes after a few meters. All well-prepared - then it didn't rain and we were soaking wet from sweat. We continue to work on the balance between being well-prepared and having a positive mindset.
In commercials, we have learned that there are 37 types of headaches! Today we have learned that there are 2 types of "my-butt-hurts"
Bad and really bad.
In a selfless self-experiment, we are trying out what helps against it:
