After rain comes sunshine again. ..and wild life

Chop etilgan: 21.03.2024

Bremen Bay. Planned as a short break from the daily tent setup and dismantling, just go to the beach for a few hours. So far a good plan. Only the weather was different. It was raining non-stop.
Struggling with unreliable internet, I booked a boat tour to the orca hunting areas. There are two things I've never seen before: orcas in the wild and a ship full of people puking.
Both items were checked off that day, with only one being on my bucket list.
I didn't see the beaches (we remember: the weather).
On March 14th I drove on to a campground in Parry Beach. I stayed here for 3 days too. A beautiful place under low trees.

I drove to the Valley of the Giant Trees. Here a circular path leads up to 40m in height through these gigantic trees, red tingles, which only occur in a narrow belt here in Western Australia. They have a circumference of up to 20 meters and are 400 years old. Many of these trees have become rotten internally over time due to fungal or insect attack, making them easy targets for the regular bushfires. These trees are partially hollow at the bottom and traces of fire are clearly visible. But they continue to grow. Further and further up to heights of 70 meters.

Since the weather was getting sunnier, I went to the Greenpool. A small lagoon protected by rocks with a picture-perfect beach. I grabbed my snorkeling gear and explored the underwater world between the rocks. Crystal clear water.
At first I struggled with gasping for breath. It just doesn't feel normal to breathe underwater. Certainly incomprehensible to many, especially since I was swimming on the surface. But it took a lot of effort for me. After a while of getting used to it, I was even able to enjoy it.

Finally a gourmet day. The campground wasn't as empty as others, so you didn't feel as lonely.

Now I'm just before Perth. In a very empty place in a national park. At least there is a toilet. There is also no warning about poisonous snakes, but rather about “disease carying mosquitoes”. At least.

Am I sometimes afraid, alone in the middle of the park? -Yes. a little bit. Without buts.

In the afternoon I still have company, countless parrots, 3 kookaburras and towards the evening a small family of kangaroos.
