After spending 3 nights in Bangkok, we now need a little contrast and have booked 4 nights in an accommodation right by the sea through Airbnb. We want to head south, but in the very south the weather is rather cloudy and rainy. So it will be the golden middle, where the weather is still suitable for a beach holiday. And this golden middle has the complicated name Prachuap Khiri Khan. The small town is located about 300km south of Bangkok.
We will arrive there in the afternoon by bus. Unfortunately, the bus driver throws us out on the highway and our accommodation is still several kilometers away. So we set off on foot. After a few kilometers, a nice man approaches us and offers to take us to the town. We gladly accept. In Germany, we would never do that, but here everything seems different. Friendlier and more relaxed. In broken English, we learn that he works for the highway police and he proudly shows us his workplace. Then he takes us directly to our accommodation. We are super happy :-) And when we realize that our accommodation is actually a homestay with a nice French-Thai couple and we can see and hear the sea from our bed, everything is perfect. I particularly like the strong surf and the waves that sometimes splash onto the promenade. Somehow relaxing...
On the way there, we already discovered a few food stalls at the food market. Now we are heading there and trying out the endless offerings. Sticky rice cooked in bamboo tubes over fire, fried pork skin, dried squid twisted through a roller, which surprisingly taste delicious, etc. Aaaaaand... drum roll...
