On Sunday, October 15th, we visited my host mom's parents in Geelong for dinner, a beautiful city with a harbor and pier! I had some time alone to explore the second largest city in Victoria and enjoy my coffee by the harbor in the sun:) Geelong has a population of approximately 160,000 people and is located at the end of the Port-Philip Bay (southern coast of Australia).
Then it was time for dinner! Unfortunately, the main course was salmon, which I didn't like, but the avocado salad and dessert made up for it;)
During the following week, we visited Park Victoria in Ballarat in great weather, which has a section with a small water park and playgrounds. This section is fenced off, so no child can escape;) At the beginning of the week, it was just over 20°C, so the kids could play in the water park and we already needed sunscreen. We had a lot of fun there and it was definitely not the last time we spent an afternoon there this summer:)
The last part of the week was very rainy, but that worked out well because I met a girl from Finland on Facebook, who is also an au pair in Ballarat and agreed to meet me for sushi. We got along great and had a 'playdate' at the indoor playground. Unfortunately, her little girl got a little sick, but the kids and I decided to go anyway! It was great for me because I could mostly let Harry play unsupervised and everything was secure. I also had a lot of fun there, as the adults were allowed to use the trampolines and climbing structures as well;) Freyja was fascinated by the huge ball pit and spent most of her time there! We stayed there for almost three hours and the kids were totally tired when we came home for dinner:)
