After over 13 hours, I finally land in Sydney. Due to not having a window seat, I could only see the sunrise over Australia through the external camera, and I am not aware of the current fires. I only see Sydney through the airport windows. After a 1.5-hour technical stop, we board again and head towards Christchurch....
Finally, the coast of the South Island appears. Snow-covered mountains like in the Alps, wonderful...
Kindly, Duncan picks me up from the airport. His hospitality is incredible. I can sleep at their place, be well taken care of, and the bus has been parked here for over a year. Thank you very much Duncan for all the support. I hope I can give back to you as well.
Of course, I unpack the car. Apart from dust and cobwebs, nothing happened. I replace the faulty switch for the passenger seat (that's why the airbag warning light is on), connect the battery, check the oil and water, and start the engine. Everything is fine, it's running.... Tomorrow is the MOT.... (called WOF here).
In the evening, we cook and chat until I literally can't keep my eyes open. That's it for today....
