71° 10' 21" N ~ Nordkapp, 28.07.2017

Yawn. After a very short two-hour night's rest in a waterfront parking bay far up north, where mosquitoes were swarming (Leon: ..like the Chinese at noon on Marienplatz in Minga..) and veiled Finns gathered for midnight fishing, we embarked on the final leg of our journey to Nordkapp. It was always heading in one direction. Passing through lonely fishing villages, over bridges, through sometimes very long tunnels that resembled more a stalactite cave, and the last part was quite uphill. The closer we got to our destination, the colder and darker it became. The last kilometers were barely visible in dense fog, so we reached the parking lot at 6 am. Since the opening hours during high season are from 11 am to 1 am, we dedicated ourselves to further travel planning in the building that still separated us from the northernmost point of Europe. Hence our insider tip: anyone reaching Nordkapp outside of opening hours doesn't need to pay the admission fee - and that's a respectable 60 euros we saved. Regardless, the little detour to the north was worth it even in the fog. I'll leave everything else to the pictures today...
