Day 12: Bathing in Hot Springs

Today we were able to have a hearty breakfast. Wolfgang was finally able to enjoy a proper breakfast.

Our Belgian hostess recommended a trip to hot springs in "Aguas Calientes". The name says it all 😉

She gave us a hand-drawn description and towels. Unfortunately, the description was only approximate, especially the directions were incorrect. Then she said "just past the small bridge". We passed about 6 bridges. Luckily, I was able to ask in the village. The first information (from a child) was completely wrong. In a store, a young woman explained the way to me very precisely. That's how we finally found the place.

You leave the car on the road and walk through the forest for a bit. The entrance is in the photo with the fence, you go left. You have to know that! Right next to the rushing river are two natural pools. Warm water comes from the ground. It is wonderfully clear and around 33/34 degrees. Very pleasant. There were also two families there besides us. They were very surprised that foreigners were there.

After a thorough bath and a small picnic, we returned through this beautiful mountain landscape: lush green meadows, plantations, and forests with pine trees.

In the evening, we had another delicious 3-course meal! Here too, Wolfgang finally got to enjoy it!

And now it's pouring rain! Real tropical rain.
