Day 348-354 - Arrival in Thailand @ Phuket & Koh Phi Phi

Hello everyone

We have been back in beautiful Thailand since December 17th, 2023.

As you can see, it starts as usual for us: different than planned.

Originally we wanted to take a break from blogging for the first day or two and then report back on our experiences. However, the air conditioning was our downfall and we were lying flat until today 😅

Apart from the explanation, we had a very nice start!

During the flight we had very comfortable seats, with a lot of legroom. At the airport we were approached by a guy who wanted to share a grave (taxi) with us - he was going to Patong. Since we had no idea where we wanted to go, we decided to go along. From what we had in mind, Patong was heading in the right direction. When we got there, the first thing we did was sit down in a bar and treat ourselves to a cool refreshment. Meanwhile we checked our location and our destination - of course Patong wasn't on the way. On the contrary, we would have gotten to the hotel in that time! “Well, we have time,” we decided unanimously and drank our drinks in peace.

We then organized a TukTuk for the rest of the way to the hotel.

We reached our destination at 4:45 p.m. and were absolutely thrilled with the room! We had some food delivered to our room and then fell asleep around 8 p.m. The following days we spent most of the time torturing ourselves in bed. On day 350 we traveled on to Koh Phi Phi, to a small bungalow on the coast. However, there was no window that could be opened and the beach party was incredibly loud - until 3 a.m.! That's why we changed accommodation again on day 353.

Now we are in a cute hotel on Long Beach, a little outside of the action, but quiet ☺️.

The first night in the new hotel worked wonders! Today we were able to take the boat over to the village after lunch to do some shopping. We also treated our bodies to a little treat: I got a full face waxing and Kevin decided on a pedicure ☺️.

Afterwards we had a delicious drink on the beach and the spirit of adventure was back: we booked a boat and set off an hour later. The goal was to find illuminating plankton. Of course, this wasn't our first attempt and we didn't think we had much of a chance - but we still wanted to give it a try.

After about an hour on the water, Kevin started to stir up the sea a bit and sure enough! It started to flicker slightly! Of course never as much as we had hoped, but at least not a complete flop ☺️

We were back at the hotel around 9 p.m., had a delicious dinner and now it's time to go back to bed 😉
