Today was the first day we could have slept in. However, we were woken up early by the sounds of nature. Our hut had no window panes, only fly screens. So we listened to the sounds of the jungle to fall asleep in the evening and woke up in the morning with the Montezuma birds, who announced the new day with their not-so-sweet voices.

Boat trip from Tortugero After a boat ride of about an hour, we continued on the bus for the same amount of time to Guapiles, where we picked up our rental car after lunch.

Turning was also a bit difficult because there doesn't seem to be any real right-of-way rules: Anyone who thinks they have the right of way goes first - and that's rarely the tourist in the rental car...
