How about going to Mount Cook?

After ignoring the checkout time once again today, we left the campsite around 12 and drove to Timaru.

During a coffee break, we took out the map and I decided that I would like to go to Mount Cook. Done. We headed towards Mount Cook when suddenly I discovered this cool place with old signs, old cars, and other old stuff in the town of 'Burkes Pass' and I could have spent hours there and wished I was in Germany because I could have bought something there, but it doesn't make sense to buy and carry such things here.

Afterwards, we went to Lake Tekapo, which in my opinion is the most beautiful lake in New Zealand. I was there about a month ago with Lea in the cool tipi accommodation and today we went back to the chapel right by the water and then continued to Lake Pukaki, which is almost as beautiful as Lake Tekapo. On the home stretch to Mount Cook, we realized that we needed to refuel and drove back to Twizel to refuel. Finally refueled, we set off along Lake Pukaki towards Mount Cook. (Can you tell how relaxed we are? 😉)

Lost in our conversation, we drove too far, but we decided not to turn back and just keep going. We are now at the campsite, but I can't tell you what the landscape looks like because it's so dark.

We're making wraps now, hanging out on our phones, planning, having strange profound conversations full of brilliance, and then we'll go to sleep.

By the way, you often see signs that the roads on the South Island are "different" and you always wonder why...

The roads are more hilly, which usually raises the question "Why?" because it only makes the road layout unnecessarily confusing and has led to both me and Jonathan scraping the car five times already.
