Wahle watching Ecuador

Our first impression of Ecuador - GREEN. Truly fascinating. Everything is blooming and sprouting - and everywhere you can find banana or cocoa trees. The border crossing between Peru and Ecuador was very relaxed - in 30 minutes we had all the documents and were able to start. Our first destination was Puerto Lopez. By chance, we found out that you can watch humpback whales there. We didn't want to miss that opportunity, so we booked a tour. It was truly fascinating. However, we had to once again realize that Silke is a real lightweight when it comes to seasickness. In the end, she got a honorary place right next to the helmsman. The waves were somewhat bearable here. The observation of the huge humpback whales was gigantic and fascinating. Especially, the emergence of these giants was magnificent. Besides the humpback whales, we also saw blue-footed boobies.
