Week 3

At the end of the second week, we completed our ring binders at Pe.Pe. Now we are prepared to guide the children in their work, but unfortunately, it may take a bit longer because we still cannot work together in the workshops due to Corona.
There are still restrictions, so we are not allowed to work in all areas. This also includes support at the school.

For 1 1/2 weeks, we have mainly been working in the after-school care or leisure care, which also takes place in the morning. We travel between three different locations.
From Monday to Thursday, we work separately, either in Mattarello or in Povo. There, we pick up the children from school and take care of them all afternoon. The children are between 6 and 12 years old. We play a lot of games, and thanks to the great autumn weather, we are outside.

On Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, we work together with two other educators in Marco, which is right next to Rovereto. There, we take care of children who come from socially disadvantaged families and therefore have more difficulties, for example, concentrating. We help them with homework, play games or draw. The children can decide.

We are amazed at how well communication works after such a short time. There are still many difficulties, but we can always understand each other. Everyone is very nice and accommodating, so you can dare to practice Italian.
In addition to work, we attend an Italian language course twice a week to further educate ourselves.

When we are at home, we love to cook a lot and often. We try many new recipes and eat a lot. With the beautiful weather, we often go to the park and have picnics.
