Roadtrip Tag 64-65 / Hahndorf

ئېلان قىلىندى: 18.11.2017

At noon we went to Hahndorf, the 'German village' in Australia. In 1838, a village in Germany fled, and its residents were persecuted because of their religion. Captain Hahn took the group to Australia. After 5 years of searching, the perfect place with German climate was discovered. In gratitude, the village was named Hahndorf. This became the first German village in Australia. Today, there are about 1800 residents in Hahndorf, and they try to make money with the German reputation. However, we find everything a bit exaggerated, but the Australians and Asians love it. The streets and building style are typically German.

We went to the café for coffee and got something sweet to eat beforehand. Even the café had prepackaged cookies for sale. Everywhere, there is gluten-free food to choose from, which is not typical German.

The next morning, we relaxed at the campsite and waited for the sun to come out from behind the clouds. We went back to the city to have coffee and Padi had something to eat. Then we did a gin tasting. Delicious gin, but too expensive in Australia. Back at the campsite, we played two rounds of mini golf.
