Chapter 8.2 - 3 x Banh Mi (included breakfast)

I leave the hotel. I had breakfast shortly after 8:00am and have been chilling in the room since then. I had 3 rolls with egg and sausage. Not very generous. I will order more for tomorrow. There is currently no buffet at the hotel, as I seem to be the only guest here... The weather in Ha Long is very foggy and cloudy today. Calls for a visit to the Quang Ninh Museum. However, they close at 12:00pm for 1 hour. So I thought my arrival time should be at 1:00pm. I will now drive over the Bai Chay Bridge to the other side of Ha Long.

12:43pm

I'm sitting at a roadside stand and drinking instant coffee. The guys next to me are smoking a tobacco bong. Kind of strange when you have the backdrop of the magnificent buildings. Here shabby meets elegant. Poor meets rich. And I'm sitting on the too small wooden bench. Then I'll go to the museum, then lunch. I hope the day goes by quickly today. I find it horrible here.

2:45pm

I'm out of the museum and now I'm sitting in a chicken spot. I treat myself to some legs and fries. Nice and greasy. I'm still considering what to do with the rest of the day.

3:50pm

I found the secret entrance to Poem Mountain, but the woman who lives there first wanted 500k, when I declined she asked for 200k. I would have given her 50k, but for a 30 minute walk up a mountain where I can have a view of Ha Long City and the sea? No thanks. Now I have to see what else I do. I'll probably go to the spot the receptionist sent me. Supposedly you can see the sunset there. On the way to the mountain, I also passed through a market with my scooter. You find everything in this metropolis, just by turning a corner.

4:47pm

I'm sitting in the cafe next door. The view is just as beautiful, but the coast is completely covered in fog. That means no sunset. I'll probably go back to the hotel soon.

8:16pm

I'm having dinner. There is a spring roll, fried noodles and a cola. I was in the hotel earlier and took a shower. I chilled out and watched YouTube on my TV. Luxury. Tomorrow I'll probably take a little trip to Tuan Chau by bike. An island, 20 minutes away from my hotel. Let's see if I need to refuel. Enjoy your meal

10:04pm

Back in the hotel room, luck has struck me. There is Netflix on the TV and the previous occupants have not logged out of their account. Yes! I was at the beach and had a beer. Then I went on a picture hunt. Finally got the bridge too. A tough snapshot from my corner of Ha Long. Tomorrow I'm going to the hairdresser and definitely to a booking office. I want to book a bus to Hanoi.
