Cathedral Cove

After the weather was unfortunately too bad the day before yesterday to take halfway decent pictures, we postponed our trip to Cathedral Cove for a day. That was a good decision!

We parked at Hahei Beach and walked the beautiful footpath to Cathedral Cove, 1.5 hours one way, but it was definitely worth it. Beautiful views along the way and the beaches at Cathedral Cove are fantastic. not to mention the Cove itself. There are about two million birds there, but it's easier to take a picture without birds than without other tourists. At least from Cathedral Cove, we managed to take some good pictures of the beaches and the amazing rock formations.

It seems that most tourists are transported by buses, take the shortest walk, and only have a short time for a few pictures of Cathedral Cove itself. Next time, we will definitely bring beach equipment, although the path is long, the beaches are really great.

We then drove to Thames via Tairua, which also has a great beach. Unfortunately, it was our worst campground on the entire trip.

We have now arrived in Auckland and are staying with Airbnb in a great house with a view of the Sky Tower, Harbour Bridge, and the beach.
