Tilcara

Tilcara is located at the confluence of the Rio Grande de Jujuy and the Rio Huasamayo in northwestern Argentina. Here we stayed for 2 nights in a hostel with a shared bathroom and it was quite cold at night. There was no heating and Mia and Torben had a hole in the wall...

In Tilcara, there is also Pucará de Tilcara to visit on a hill. These are archaeological excavations and it is one of the most important archaeological sites in northern Argentina. It is an ancient fortified village of the Tilcara Indians at an altitude of 2450 meters. It is approximately 900 years old.
