Today our groups were divided and I was in the technique group, where we specifically practiced carving and pole use.
We started the skiing day with warm-up exercises led by Erik and Lennart. Afterwards, as a group, we went down the mountain. At first, we focused only on carving, which was very difficult on the steep slopes at the beginning, but with a little practice, it got better. We also had to practice going back up the mountain using edge engagement and then learned how to ski properly with the pole. Everyone had a lot of fun because after lunch, we further reduced the groups. One group continued to practice/learn more about the technique, while the others skied a bit faster down the slope and applied the previously practiced technique. We were also very lucky with the weather, the sun was shining and accompanied us throughout the course. When we were down to about 10 people, we could make good use of the time to further improve our technique. One slope led to a viewpoint where we could look out over the whole valley. Beautiful. At 15:30, we headed back to the bus, successfully ending our skiing day. In total, we covered a distance of 30km, reaching speeds of up to 70km/h😉
