After 3 days in Penang, we continue to the island of Langkawi, in the northern area of the Strait of Malacca near the Thai border. We don't really have a clear idea of the island. Kris has been there before, but that was many moons ago 🌔. In the harbor of the island we are greeted by a huge white-headed eagle ... the symbol of the island ... and everywhere one duty free shop after another is lined up .... Tax-free oasis ...
The arrival at the guesthouse is a little reserved ... from both sides ... here you can expect less rather than more ... above all, the guest should be quiet ..... later it turns out that children under 12 are unwanted 🤔 .... But we are here now ...
Well, first of all, arrive and see ... more or less beautiful construction has been done on the beaches and around ...
In Langkawi there are mountains, jungle and of course (lonely) beaches. We discover part of the jungle from below and from above. As a family, we float secured on steel cables up to 80 m high through the jungle. The best part was the "ride" on a 200m long steel cable over a waterfall.... Paul is completely fearless...
Not quite as exciting, of course, are the beach trips, but necessary because it is unbearably hot on the island ...
Finally, things got really exciting because the knot finally burst for Paul ... he can finally swim freely and is totally happy .... Motivated by the newfound independence .... Paul swims and swims and swims 🏊🏊🏊 .... Heeey Mom* ....
* an insider from 'Greg's Diary' .... We have two books with us, which we have already read several times .... they are not boring for Paul either
