As feared, the alarm clock rang at 5 o'clock in the morning. We asked ourselves the usual question: Whyyyy?! But we should quickly wake up. On the way to the city, I checked my emails again, including the spam folder. Thank God! The tour guide had written to me and said that she cannot pick us up there as planned. Great... But the problem was quickly resolved after fifteen minutes and several short panic attacks. We were sitting on the bus at 7:15. We started with a clear sky. But how could it be different... The closer we got to our destination, the cloudier and colder it became. Okay, maybe understandable at an altitude of 1000m. In any case, we probably won't need the extra packed shorts^^ Before we started with the typical sightseeing, Basti could prove himself in boomerang throwing - almost successful 😁 Finally, we arrived at the landmark of the Blue Mountains: the Three Sisters. We were lucky. In the moment we stood on the viewing platform, the clouds briefly cleared and contributed to a great photo opportunity. Incredible! After that, we visited a few more lookouts that offered an amazing view over the valleys. A little frozen, we treated ourselves to a pumpkin soup for lunch. Later in the afternoon, we visited a wildlife park and were able to cuddle with kangaroos 😍 otherwise it didn't have much to do with wildlife. The cages were way too small. Towards the end, we also visited the 2000 Olympic stadium. The Australians invested 7 billion in everything!!! The last part was a boat trip through the Harbor Bridge to the Opera House and then back to our harbor. Completely exhausted, we made our way back home.
