Idaho Falls / City of Rocks

Yes, the last 1.5 weeks were amazing. It almost felt like home with Sarah & Aaron... in Valais. Ha! Don't let anyone say the people from Valais are not open-minded! It was great, thanks to Sarah (my cousin) and Aaron, I was able to integrate quickly in Idaho Falls.

Thank you again for the time I spent with you. It was great to meet my great nephews (is that right?!?!).

There's not much to say about City of Rocks, just another world-class climbing area... although there weren't many climbers. But the ones I had the pleasure to meet were pretty strong! Especially Matt Henderson, I will remember him for a long time!

Good old Matt is 67 years young and still has some crazy ideas in his head (he brought a BMX and a Rock Crawler (remote-controlled car) with him, which kept him pretty busy...)

He was alone too, so we teamed up and spent a wonderful evening under the stars by the campfire (without light pollution!). The next day, we went climbing. After the second route, Matt had such a red face that he told me, 'Oliver, you have to do the next routes... I don't want you to leave City of Rocks telling everyone you climbed with an old guy and he had a heart attack on the route.' We both had a good laugh and I was able to climb some more routes.
