20.04.2023 Child care project

The day started with collecting some kids from school again before I went in the playroom.

We had put all Lego creations in the staff room over night to keep them safe from destruction. 

I continued to built with the kids but not for too long because today I got the task to take care or cayton until 4o'clock. A younger kid who is known to be a very chaotic troublemaker so he needs 1 to 1 supervision.

I was already warned about this kids from the previous volunteers so I was ready for the worst.

So we played outside in the sandpit for a bit with no problems at all. Cayton was super nice and I was just playing along with him. Building sand castles and making roadways.

Though I still had my guard up and was ready should he start doing anything chaotic.

It was at that moment that one of the other kids threw a handful of sand directly into cayton's face.

So this was it, now I would probably have to hold cayton back with all my strength so he wouldn't destroy this child who dared to throw sand on him.

But cayton just got up, brushed the sand of his clothes and went to the bathroom to clean his face aswell. Then he said to me 'It was mean what the other kid did.' And I agreed with him and we went back to play with something else.

Honestly a very sweet child.

At 4 I went back to the playroom and realized with horror that every single creation had been destroyed while I was gone.

Which was kind of to be expected.

So I started making new one's.

We finished our shift and went back home.There was sadly no Badminton tonight so instead we stayed home and played some more poker. 

It was a good day again.
