On Sunday, we took the train from Ninh Binh to Hanoi. Hanoi is known for its towering buildings where trains thunder through. That's something you have to experience 😅
In addition, the Old Quarter with its narrow alleys and various museums was on the to-do list for Hanoi. We had a total of two full days for Hanoi. Monday and Friday. We quickly realized that all the museums were closed on Mondays and Fridays. Including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the final resting place of the great Ho Chi Minh. Unfortunately, the War Museum was also closed 🤨. Well, you can't have everything in life, so on Monday we visited an old prison and explored the city a bit. Our hostel was right in the Old Quarter. There are lots of small alleys, bars, and restaurants everywhere. It's pretty crazy with all these thousands of people. The good thing about Hanoi is that they have a Denny Street 😇... Well, they call it Pub Street. So on Sunday, I wandered through the alleys and went from bar to bar 😜 The motto was clearly 'One beer or something similar per bar'. I can tell you in advance... Unfortunately, I didn't win 😂
We arrived in Hanoi again on Thursday and this time we got a better hotel to simply do absolutely nothing for the remaining time... Lounge by the pool and relax. Winter is slowly coming to Vietnam too, and on Thursday it was only 19 degrees and today, on Friday, it's only 25 degrees. So the relaxation is just right 😜
Tomorrow morning at 8 am, we're going to the airport to be back in cold Germany 20 hours later.
...oh Vietnam, you deliver on your promises...
A truly beautiful and diverse country that you definitely have to see. I think I'll come back, because unfortunately, you can't see all the highlights in 3 weeks.
With that said, thanks to all the readers... Goodbye, take care, and see you soon 😉
