a new chapter

Hey dear ones 🌸

Today our journey to Australia has begun. Jasmin and I will travel for a year and work on the side to finance everything. We also want to go to Thailand and Bali, maybe even Hawaii if everything works out time-wise.

But first, let's start from the beginning. Our flight from Berlin Schönefeld to London Gatwick departed at 9:40. Saying goodbye to our family and friends was really hard. We said goodbye for ages and cried a lot. I will miss everyone so much and Jasmin as well. Because of the long farewell, we almost missed our flight in Berlin, well actually it was more because of me, because we wanted to eat and drink coffee haha and maybe we extended the farewell a bit too long.

Thank goodness!! we still managed to catch the flight, I haven't run so much in a long time when we realized that we were called twice and almost missed check-in. Then we ran with our huge backpack through the whole airport to the gate. Typical Lelaina action. But then everything was fine and we were sitting in the plane to London. After a 1-hour flight we arrived and had to change airports from Gatwick to Heathrow, which took a bit longer than expected. When we finally arrived there, we still had about a 7-hour layover out of a total of 12 hours of waiting. But time flew by quickly and everything was easy until we took the flight to Manila (Philippines). That was also the longest flight of the whole journey, we flew for 14 hours. But since we both fell asleep immediately, time passed by really quickly again. Overall, the journey so far is much more relaxed than we thought. When we arrived in Manila, we then took our last flight to Cairns FINALLY.

There we had to wait another 4 hours and now we're sitting in the airplane and I'm writing this blog post. We still have a 4-hour flight left and then we will arrive in Australia on Monday at 7:15 am. I can't believe it 💘💘 The excitement is really huge and we truly have no idea what to expect. First, we have booked a hostel in Cairns for one week and will try to find a job as soon as possible and take care of all the organizational matters. The next time will be so exciting and I'm really looking forward to it with Jasmin. We will get in touch when we arrive and try to write as often as possible. See you soon friends!!
