This constant short drive and exploration of different places also takes its toll, especially at our age! Absorbing and processing impressions every day, which means communicating with each other and raising new questions, is not easy in the long run. Add to that the constant living out of a suitcase (car) and then the high temperatures and foreign language! All of this should not be underestimated and takes its toll after two weeks. That's why we are very grateful to have our own apartment in Brest and three days off. And our own washing machine, which can restore our collection of sweaty t-shirts and underwear/nightwear. Also, all the important stores are in close proximity, just like if you were living here. So this morning I was able to get fresh baguette and new drinks at the checkout, to complement everything we didn't get yesterday. And here it is everyday to open your backpack at the checkout and show the contents.
After breakfast, we set off through the city. We found the preparatory information in our apartment and ended up directly at the tourist information. There we received the final important information and a day ticket for two people for 4€! But Brest doesn't offer so many sights that are worth intensive attention. Just like this city as a whole corresponds to a typical small town in the German-speaking area. Only through the sea and the associated harbor facilities does the place have a different flair. Nevertheless, we felt very alone for a Saturday and there was only a crowd of people at the 'Rade de Brest' (fjord, but not really!?) cable car. So we used our day ticket and simply drove to the end stop of one of the two trams (relaxing sitting and air conditioning) and then back to our apartment. Back home, cook healthily, another round of washing machine, update the travel blog and rethink the next fixed points, all of this filled up this afternoon. Interested parties can read the results tomorrow. Because then we will have a relaxing lazy day, which we deserve and which is simply, as already indicated, absolutely necessary! We are going through these planned eight weeks, but we also have to save our energy!
