A boat trip that is fun..

Hello dear ones,

here I am again. Today there is really not much to tell, because we had a cozy day today, meaning we slept until 8:30 am, had a leisurely breakfast and packed our suitcases, slowly but surely I am getting some order in here, and I could talk to Max again. Always nice when that works out. :) At just before 12 o'clock we set off towards the harbor. Because today we took the ferry from Wellington to Picton. :D

Our ferry left at 2:45 pm and, as it should be, we were there way too early, but at least we weren't the first ones :D All very exciting for me, because I have never driven anywhere with a car and a ferry.

Since we knew that there would be a lot to see on this trip, we went straight up to the observation deck to take lots of photos. But as soon as we got further away from the harbor and it got windier and wavier, we quickly hid inside. Just in time because we got two sofas with a relatively good view out of the window.

Since the waves didn't agree with me, I lay down and slept. About two hours later I woke up again and we were already in the Sounds and could go back on deck to take photos. People who can take pictures probably got some very impressive shots, for me everything just looks green and gray somehow. :( Well, practice makes perfect and I have another chance to take better photos.

After we arrived in Picton, we just went to our bed & breakfast, unpacked and set off to the harbor to get something to eat. We also found a great restaurant called Oxleys. Here I drank my first New Zealand beer and found out that I really like Tui, and I can remember the name :D

We spent the rest of the evening taking care of little things and will now go to sleep. Tomorrow we will explore the Marlborough Sounds.
