The weather is crappy today, there is no other way to put it. At least I slept really well, had a nice shower, put on my rain gear (after I'd showered, of course 😋) and now I'm slowly heading off towards the sea. At least it's dry. The tour takes 30 minutes to Bergen aan Zee. I pass a field of tulips along the way. At least that warms up the ❤️ Luckily I have gloves with me. The wind is really cold. I stop at De Jongens on the beach at 11:45 a.m. and treat myself to a latte and poffertjes . My breakfast, so to speak. Then I continue by bike to Egmond aan Zee . The ride takes about 30 minutes through a beautiful dune landscape. I also come across a field of daffodils , which looks so cute the way the flowers dance in the wind. In Egmond aan Zee I stroll through the town with its many small shops and eat fried zander on the way. I stop off at the beach again and treat myself to a latte and red wine with a view of the sea. The sparrows steal my biscuit without me noticing, I only noticed it after they had already nibbled on it. They deserve it, I don't eat particularly healthily here anyway 🫣
Because you all wish me the sun 😍 it's actually shining right now 😁 Before I cycle back to Alkmaar, I take a little walk on the beach. I take the same route back through the dunes because it was so enchanting. On the way back, I even see a few free-roaming horses. A mare and her foal disappear into the swamp, it's so unrealistic, just beautiful. I filmed it too, but my phone crashed, I think it was overwhelmed by the sight 🙃 When I get to the campsite, I immediately open a can of beer. Conclusion for today: I'm grateful that it stayed dry. The best part of the day was the ride through the dunes from Bergen aan Zee to Egmond aan Zee 🫶
Tomorrow we're going to the cheese market in Alkmaar.
