Through Kassel to Erfurt
Today the church bells rang again punctually at 7 o'clock, but thanks to a certain habituation effect, they were easily integrated into the dream world.
Our departure was at 8.30 am towards Kassel. Here we had to briefly stop at the large campsite to load and unload our water and wastewater tanks. During our waiting time, we witnessed how difficult it was for a car with a trailer to leave the campsite. There were several problems: a tight exit area, changing commands from the wife, "helpful" tips from the other campers standing around, and 30 degrees in the shade. Well, the driver held up bravely and fought his way out of the exit with his combination vehicle in what felt like 100 maneuvers. We drove towards Auepark and strolled along the Fulda towards Grimmwelt. On the way, we admired some of the art objects of Documenta and were not always sure whether it was art or garbage.
In the Grimm Museum, we adults learned a lot about the Brothers Jacob and Wilhelm. Finn was more interested in the world of fairy tales. The staging of "Rumpelstiltskin" in 10 languages (including sign language and Hessian dialect) was amusing. After a relaxed walk back to the motorhome, a stop near Eisenach was originally planned. But since it was raining at the time and Finn was sleeping, Papa decided to drive a bit further and head to the final destination in Erfurt. We arrived just in time for dinner and parked at the playground at Nettelbeckufer to visit Opa Uwe and Oma Petra a day earlier. The next 3 days passed quickly, and we enjoyed ourselves with the family. A short cultural highlight was the concert by the band "Die Ärzte", which could be easily followed with take-away food from the meadow on Petersberg. On Saturday, we started the journey back to Blankenstein. All in all, we traveled about 1,700 km and had a great holiday with our neighbors in the Netherlands.
