We are all awakened by the chattering Leo shortly before 8 o'clock. We cuddle in the small bed for a while and raise the blinds. The sky is overcast today. It is drizzling lightly. Nevertheless, we have breakfast outside as it will stop soon. Today, we want to explore the old town of Šibenik and leave late in the morning. Šibenik is one of the oldest Croatian cities on the Adriatic Sea.
We search for a parking space for a while, but then we find one on the promenade. At first, we start walking with the stroller.
We quickly realize that the old town consists of many stairs, so we switch to using the Manduca (baby carrier). We walk through small alleys and climb numerous stairs.
Marik always runs ahead. For him, running through the narrow, winding alleys is a huge adventure. He often decides which way we should go.
Once we reach the top, we are in front of the entrance to the Fortress of St. Michael. From up here, the view of the old town of Šibenik, the bay, and the mouth of the Krka river is excellent.
We walk along the walls of the fortress and admire the view. The weather holds up, and except for a few raindrops, it stays dry.
Marik is tired and hungry from climbing so many stairs. Therefore, we look for a restaurant to take a break. The weather starts to get worse, and it starts raining. We then return to the campsite. There, we rest a bit and read a book together. After that, it's time for Marik to wear his rain boots again. We don't let the weather spoil our mood. Marik jumps in puddles and throws stones into the sea while Tobi and Leonora take a little afternoon nap.
In the early evening, we go to an Italian restaurant for dinner. After that, we retreat to the caravan and spend the evening comfortably.
Tomorrow, we will continue to Split. The weather is forecasted to be bad for the next few days, but we hope that the weather forecast is wrong, as it often is.
