Roscoff and Morlaix

Басылган: 27.06.2018

Well, how was it with the early bird, uh, bird? Hmm....so today we were early, but still too late for a big trip. So I decided on a last-minute trip to Roscoff. It was advertised on some tourist website. Message to the tourist website: Remove the entry! It's definitely not worth it!

After an hour's drive, we arrived at the harbor. We quickly found a parking spot. But somehow my gut feeling told me that today was not our day. It started with me needing to use the restroom. So off to the nearest restaurant. Why do people always give you weird looks when you disappear into the restroom with a dog? I mean, what is Teewurst supposed to do in the meantime? Wait in the men's room?

From the restaurant, we started our city tour (1. I prefer being in nature rather than walking past a thousand shops in the city where I'm forced to spend money, 2. the city is about 1/10 the size of Jülich...). Rostcoff has built a verrrrrrry long pier into the sea so that the city can be accessed during low tide. But it was too cold by the sea today, so we skipped the pier. We finished exploring the city in 30 minutes and then I had a coffee in a café, where I couldn't find coffee on the menu at first (I told you - something was wrong today...) and then we moved on.

Roscoff in all its glory: (yes, I know, the weather is fantastic and that's a good thing!)

However, since I didn't want the entire journey to be in vain, we made a stop in Morlaix on the way back. The city is known for its viaduct (see pictures) and I was hoping for more than freezing my butt off by the sea. At least it was a nice 28 °C there. The city is quite cute, as there are almost only old houses along the river. Walking up and down the river, we were done here as well. I told you - city tours are not my thing. However, I found the perfect spot for a reading break in the sun right by the river. So this city was definitely more worthwhile than Roscoff (aren't there also apples with that name???)

Schicht 2 (Ravens)....the island is clearly divided....

After that, we headed back home. From the journey there, I remembered that there was a Lidl supermarket somewhere here, and in France, you have to see it. Since I accidentally bought exfoliating scrub instead of shower gel and my sunburned skin is not keen on sandpaper right now, it was a good place to buy shower stuff. But until then, I had to use the restroom again (it wasn't our day today - normally I sweat out all the water right away), so I ran into a mattress store. When the salesperson saw me, his eyes lit up. I was probably the first customer today. But when I begged him to let me use the restroom, I could see the dollar signs in his eyes quickly turn into smoke signals...

After shopping, I made myself some food at home (excellent meat!) and today I had cider from a PET bottle, just like a student.

Otherwise, I'm going to bed early tonight so that hopefully tomorrow we can finally start the bigger trip. Teewurst is already asleep, so send lots of sausages uh greetings.

(Today from the couch....the PET bottle is only half full and I'm too lazy to get up....but it's still nice, isn't it?)

Good night!

Oh, I almost forgot. Two things you can absolutely forget in this wonderful cheese and wine country:

Radio (apparently it comes from RADIOr=DIAlOg: they ONLY talk or play some ancient ballads by Whitney Houston/Michael Jackson or someone else, and it's constant! Nothing else since Saturday....)

Television (see description under 'Radio'...)

Seriously people, you show everyone how to live life and then can't get over Whitney Houston???? At least switch to ACDC or Deep Purple if you don't want to switch musically to the present......
