Return trip in the fog

Sunday September 6, 2020
16°C After the thunderstorms and torrential rains of the night, the fog hangs thick in the valley.

When the alarm clock rings at 5:15 a.m., it is not yet visible as it is still pitch black. I have blueberries and yogurt for breakfast, make two rolls for the trip and pack the last things. Wash again, take out the garbage, and at 6:50 a.m. I start rolling in Außerkreith.

The navigator says 749km and about 7 hours of driving. It's raining and the weather is really awful. There is a lot of mud on the road to the highway that has been washed down from the slopes.

Bah! What a weather in Tyrol
The church in Mutters

Since it is Sunday, there is hardly any traffic on the highway heading east. After about an hour, I pass through the empty border crossing into Germany without any checks.

Coronatest in Bavaria

15km after the border, you can get a corona test. Since there is not much going on there either, I take advantage of the offer. The journey is smooth. There are only two cars on the right edge of the road before I pass them quickly, until there is a traffic jam there, which is announced shortly afterwards on the radio.

Home!

After 7 hours and 10 minutes, I drive into my driveway in Berlin. 😊 The 10 days in Tyrol were really nice. The weather could have been a little better, but then I probably would have eaten even more Kaiserschmarrn on some alpine huts 😋😝.
