Hello everyone

Today our day started unusually early because we had to catch our flight to Koh Chang ☺️

Our alarm clock rang at 5:15 am and for a change, we got up relatively quickly after the wake-up call. Yesterday we didn't feel like packing, so we had to do it quickly this morning.

We left on time at 6:30 am, filled up the rental car with gas, returned it, and checked in.

Everything went perfectly! We walked to the gate, waited for another five minutes until the boarding line got a bit shorter, and then we were already on the first flight. We took off as planned at 7:55 am and arrived in Bangkok after a flight time of only 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Upon arrival at the airport, we grabbed our luggage and checked in again - we tried the "self check-in machines" and chuckled when the luggage belt started automatically and carried away our suitcases.

We had a layover of two hours, so we spent a little over an hour outside. We laughed as we watched the taxis bustling outside the airport - it's amazing what's going on there!

When it was time, we made our way to the terminal and once again: perfect timing ☺️

There were only a handful of passengers left in line and we were able to board the plane ☺️

We took off at 11:40 am, exactly one hour in the air, and we reached Trat.

So, we're done with flying for today, let's continue!

At the small, cute airport, we got into a shared taxi and also got a ferry ticket - all for just 280 Baht/person (CHF 7.70).

The taxi ride including the ferry crossing took another hour, and then we were on our "destination island" Koh Chang.

Upon arrival at the port, we immediately started looking for a scooter rental, as we will be staying on this island for a few days ☺️

We quickly found one at a stand that actually sold fruits ☺️

There were two available, a newer one and, well... hehehe, this time we only wanted to take one scooter and we chose the rusty one 😁

This thing has probably experienced so many things, it will outlast us too ☺️.

Together with both small and large backpacks, we hopped on the scooter. In the meantime, more interested people had gathered around the stand, all of them laughing and waving as we rode off fully loaded! 😁

We had read that the island consists mostly of jungle, but we were still surprised when 90% of the ride took us directly through the jungle.

After a 35-minute drive, we reached our hotel and once again, we have a super nice "room" ☺️

This time it's a kind of cottage with a pool and an outdoor bathtub 😁

It's now 4:30 pm and we're still sitting on our seat ☺️

Later, we'll go down to the beach and enjoy a peaceful evening ☺️

That's all for today, and we say:

See you tomorrow!
