Dear family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues, and other observers,
On Sunday, we made the following decision:
- Petra will pause or possibly even abort the tour due to health reasons. To reassure you, it is not a serious life-threatening illness. However, the risk of spreading or not recognizing something was simply too high.
- I will continue with my solo bike ride for now.
Both of us did not find this decision easy, as it no longer corresponds to what we had originally planned.
After making this decision, we spent Monday and Tuesday taking Petra + tandem + her luggage to Erfurt and taking me + solo bike + my slightly reduced luggage (about 22 kg, I won't have to do laundry as often) back to Besancon. From here, I will continue our journey on EUROPARADWEG 6. I hope that some of you will continue to accompany me.

Ja ich war auch geschockt, als ich beim Rasen mähen auf einmal Petra die Strasse langkommen sehe ... als sie es mir erklärt hatte, wußte ich erst mal bescheid. Ist zwar schade aber vielleicht renkt sich die Gesundheit schnell wieder ein ....
Jedenfalls schön, das Ihr mit 50 % Mannstärke die Tour fortsetzt und Petra ist sicher trotzdem mit allen Sinnen bei der Tour dabei.
Und schön, dass das Tagebuch weiter geschrieben wird - wir haben nämlich immer noch keinen 4K-Fernseher ;-))
