Moin

Now I'm already in the north, where people greet with 'Moin', no matter what time of day.

Packing things and starting - well, the preparation wasn't that easy. But now I've driven the first kilometers and I am in good spirits. Thinking of nothing, on the road. Very good.

Here in the north there are many winter linden trees and they are still blooming! How I love this scent! I didn't notice it at home this year.

It was a good ride today, although better on the country road than on the highway. The A7 was crowded and there was one traffic jam after another. I much preferred the country road with a moderate travel speed, the scent of linden trees, and lovely scenic views. It just takes longer to reach the destination...

There are beautiful old farms, often already in new, different use near Lüneburg. I drove along dikes on the Elbe, saw the Elbphilharmonie and the silhouette of Hamburg...

I am spending the night in Osterrönfeld [O'feld]. There is a beautiful high railway bridge over the North Sea-Baltic Canal, about 110 years old. Trains run on it, and with a suspension ferry you can get from one shore to the other underneath it. Just a few hundred meters further there is even more technology: wind turbine components.

I am actually fascinated by both: nature and technology :)
