Week Summary

Hey! 🤭

Here is a new update! 😃

In this blog post, I'm going to pack everything that has happened in the past two weeks. 😅

We had a photo shoot with our media students. We went to my boss's office, which is located in Corry, and tried out the camera. We also used glass walls to create reflections of people or objects. We also took a photo with my counseling sister. As a 'late' Christmas gift, we wanted to give our counseling family a framed photo of us. 🥰 And since we are both media students...

Speaking of counseling families, we enjoy the weekly meetings that take place on Tuesday evenings. It's also fun to play with Tessa, their daughter. ☺️

Back to the topic of media. We divided the media students into two groups and gave them a task. Each group had to make a short film with a story. My group chose a topic. 🙃 It's about a girl whose father died in the army and she becomes depressed. She feels alone and tries to cope on her own until she receives a letter that changes her life forever. Her friend encourages her to find strength in her faith and pray to God with all her concerns. So she goes to church, where she finds deep joy and hope. The first part of the film is in black and white, symbolizing the darkness we would live in without God, and the part in the church is in color, symbolizing God's light. 💡I am planning to upload the video to Facebook soon. I will let you know when I do so I can share the link in the next blog post. 👍🏻

Sometimes we go to McDonald's or Tim Hortons downtown to study and work on our monthly biblical projects. It's really fun in small study groups! 🙃

There was also an event in Corry in the past few days. I attended it last year as well. There are fun activities to do outdoors. However, I didn't stay long this time. It felt like there were more activities last year. Maybe some of you remember when I talked about the carriage ride in the snow? That didn't happen this year, for example. Since it was very cold, we just took a few quick pictures and went back to the Ranch because we had a retreat going on. This retreat was for men. However, the woodcutter who carved animals out of tree stumps was amazing. 😃😅

Did you guys watch the Winter Olympics? I watched a little bit when I was at home with counseling families. 😄Of course, I had cute company. 😂 The cat was cute too....

The last pictures in my gallery are of sunrises. And there will be more in the future. 😂 It's amazing how often we have beautiful sunrise colors. 🌄

I am currently on my way to Lafayette, Indiana with the second-year students and some staff members. There is a Bible conference there until next Friday. I'm excited to see how it goes. I don't mind a little adventure. 😉 The Ranch has booked accommodations in Lafayette. They even have a foosball table! 😁

Tonight is also the famous 'Super Bowl' (American football). I think the plan is to watch it after the first session of the conference. But we'll see. For me, it's a bit new because in America, it means the players use their hands instead of their feet. 😅

So, that was the latest update. 🖖🏻

See you guys back here soon! ☺️

Your Salome
