More or less lazy last day in Chicago ...

The weather forecast was right: today started with gray clouds, followed by rain for several hours ... The question of what are we doing today? was quickly answered: we work and make good use of our time 😉

After the usual bagels with delicious provolone and a generous coffee indulgence in the lobby, we went to our laptops and worked on our different tasks, which were finished by noon. The rest of the day, until dinner, we spent lying on the bed watching Thorsten's favorite shows on HGTV "Fix my Flip" or "Fixer-Upper". Here, run-down houses are spruced up and sold for a high price. There are good and not so good ... advisors/architects ... Thorsten absorbs this show literally ...

The stomach grumbles, even though we didn't do much today. We follow that and look forward to "Portillo's", a fast-food joint (not comparable to McDonald's) two blocks away. The guidebook for Chicago advertised the joint for its best Chicago-style hot dogs, which one must have tried. We did (Thorsten found the burger tastier ...)! It was a delight for me!

But now it's time to say "Goodbye Chicago" and look forward to tomorrow when we fly to Phoenix, Arizona and enjoy constant sunshine (let's see how long we find that pleasant - after all, 35 degrees in Arizona is a normal summer temperature). But we are also excited about the nature that has always captivated us on our travels in the USA.
