So, we have to spend the day in Wellington, our ferry doesn't leave until 2 a.m. tonight. How do you start this? Have a delicious breakfast in a small cafe in the city center and make a plan that looks like this:
The museum was really good. Several exhibitions on the subject of New Zealand, Maori, history, flora and fauna or the volcanic activities of New Zealand. And all of this for free! I was amazed that you can book the museum on GetYourGuide for just under €12 - Touri Trap!
I was able to transform into a primeval googly-eyed puffer fish and the child and I were in an "earthquake safe house" during a simulated earthquake of magnitude 7 on the Richter scale. Really well done!
The Te Papa Museum is best known for its interactive content and options - it's worth it. Then go back to the roof terrace of the museum and let your gaze wander over the harbor.
The moral excitement for the day followed during our harbor tour: a poopy traffic light man (or a Scottish traffic light man?) - right after I showed my hammer in front of the camera as Thor-Pitti. There are things!
After the outrage had died down, the cable car took off over the rooftops of Wellington. The cable car system is one of the city's most famous landmarks. The 610 meter long route of the funicular connects the Kelburn district, which is around 120 meters higher, with the city's main shopping street, Lambton Quai.
Once at the top there is an excellent view over the city and the large bay on which Wellington is located. Kelburn is also home to Wellington Botanic Gardens and an observatory.
I had to buy a new T-shirt again. The one I pulled out of my suitcase this morning apparently had holes in it. Sure: below, above and on both sides for the arms... and then the very small holes... seven or eight that you have to make such a fuss about (but both child and woman). I got two T-shirts at once... and had to dispose of my old, beautiful, black outerwear that fit my body perfectly under supervision. I know where it is...I'll go get it again when they're both asleep! Because I am Thor-Pitti!
We continue to wait for the ferry.
Windshield wiper instead of indicator counter: 73...still, we don't have a car anymore...until tomorrow.
Addendum 1: Nerd kid is sitting down again and writing something for the university... something isn't right!
Addendum 2: Wellington - you are rehabilitated!
Addendum 3: It's now 8:30 p.m....we ended up at Leroy's...a crazy bar with motorcycles on the ceiling...a bit dirty, something between a motorcycle club clubhouse and a storm drain...cool! Burgers & Beer
coming soon
