Our tour took us to the Lake District for several days. With an area of 2279 km², it is the largest national park in England.

Boat trip over Ullswater We parked in Glenridding and took a boat from there. The company we sailed with has a long history: The oldest boat we sailed on - the Lady of the Lake - was built in 1877.
In the past, the ships were steam-powered, but they have since changed to different propulsion.
Ullswater 'Steamers' We sailed across the elongated lake to Pooley Bridge. The small town mainly consists of cafes and restaurants and a few shops for tourists.
St. Paul's Church Pooley Bridge We walked along the main street and then stopped in a “Tea Room”.
Boat trip over Ullswater With the ship, we returned to Glenridding, where we took a walk through the town and then sailed with another ship to the “Aira Force Pier”.

The trail was popular with many visitors, so there was quite a lot going on on the paths.

From Glenridding, we again drove to our campsite nearby, from where we planned to depart the next morning for a small tour through the Lake District.
