Background

Already in summer 2022, I felt the desire to experience a great adventure again. After my hike around Lake Geneva last year (www.vakantio.de/genfersee-wanderung), I was tempted to take a big tour with an e-bike. Since I had neither an e-bike nor any experience with it, I first researched what is available and what I need to consider. In the end, I ordered an e-bike from Riese&Müller from Markus Bossert, Zweiradcenter, in Willisau.

Already at the beginning of September, I was able to pick it up there. After that, I started training. After just a few short rides, I was tempted to do a 4-day tour to Davos, a total of 440 km. After that, I went to Lake Constance to Triboltingen for 2 days via the Rhine Falls and Schaffhausen. That was over 330 km in 2 days. In addition to further short tours, some of them over 100 km, I finally rode to Bad Krozingen, near Freiburg im Breisgau, which added 340 km to my experience. In the end, by New Year's Eve, I already had over 1,900 km on the odometer.
