Today we visited the Heritage City of Kathmandu. It was similar to the other two, which was not surprising.
But here the traces of the 2015 earthquake were most clearly visible. Many of the old buildings have collapsed or walls need to be supported with pillars to prevent them from collapsing.
It's pretty crazy, I hope Nepal will be spared from such an environmental disaster in the near future. If it shakes again, the damage will be huge.
Despite the monsoon season, we didn't have any rain in the last 2 days, so the heat accumulated in the narrow alleyways. Today, the sun was shining mercilessly from the blue sky again. We sought refuge in the 'Garden of Dreams'. A artificially created garden in the middle of the city. A really small oasis of well-being. In the shade of the trees, we enjoyed a cool milkshake and watched a kind of squirrel searching for crumbs under the tables.
The afternoon was too hot for us and we had seen more or less everything we wanted to see. So we spent the afternoon comfortably in the shade of a bar and enjoyed doing nothing with cool drinks.
