MissionSurf - October 12 to October 24

The vacation in Capbreton is over and we are waiting for the rest of the gang in Messanges. Marci is the first one to arrive in the morning, followed by Dethleff with Freddy, Nicole, Marla, and Ben on board in the afternoon.

The MissionEuropa turns into MissionSurf. That's why I'm summarizing the whole thing more briefly. Actually, we do the same thing every year during the autumn holidays... driving around, eating, drinking beer, surfing, driving around, drinking beer, surfing, and eating!

We all stay the night in Messanges and the next day we head to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, to the well-known Erromardie. On Tuesday, Tim and Timo join us in the old Volvo! We spend the days doing the aforementioned activities and on Friday we head to Spain. Zarautz is just across the border and has a nice campground with a view of the beach and the city. Here we also eat a lot and spend all our loose change at the Clipper Casino... lighters for a euro...! On Sunday we celebrate Timo's birthday. Unfortunately, the weather is not in a birthday mood as it is pouring rain... but we celebrate anyway and continue to empty the Clipper vending machine! Besides that, we eat, drink beer, and surf... then eat, drink beer, and surf again!

We leave Zarautz on Monday and drive back together towards France to Ondres. Here we all spend the last night together, because the next day Dethleff sets off on his way home in the evening... unfortunately, the weather is rainy once again...! Marci, Timo, Tim, and us spend one more night together in Messanges before the boys head home with the packed Volvo (two more surfboards than on the way there). Marci, the last Mohican, leaves us the next morning and we are alone again. MissionSurf 2019 is over! It was great with you chaos people :)

In a nutshell: We definitely ate too much... we had it under control so well...! And weather is just weather! And... maybe the hair needs to be cut... :)
