Arriving in Perth, we first had something to eat in Kings Park before we could take a first look at Perth's skyline.
We spent the first night in Perth on a shitty campsite for 25$. Miserable plane noise on one side and on the other side of the road our neighbor screamed at her child all day long. The little dog also received numerous insults and was not treated very gently. We would have liked to just steal the dog! Unfortunately, we also have to make such experiences, that's part of it. And once again, we became aware of what lovely families we have and how well-protected we have grown up! The next day we left the campsite and secretly hoped that the son and the dog would have a good life and not suffer so much under the mother. Unfortunately, it was easy to see that the woman consumes drugs.
Yes, all beginnings are difficult, and so it was in Perth! The drugs did not only follow us on television, but unfortunately also in the pedestrian zone. In our opinion, there were above average, let's say special, people on the streets. Many beggars were lying on the ground and many others were wandering aimlessly with glassy eyes. I'm not an expert, but there are definitely a lot of drugs involved. The police presence was correspondingly high as well.
Due to minor disagreements in the choice of dinner, we simply went to Gianna's restaurant first. I don't think it's hard to figure out what dish she chose!😜
As much as she wants to be culinary diverse, she is not as soon as there is an Italian flag hanging somewhere! After the Italian meal, I had Spare Ribs in the restaurant next door! Problem solved - both happy 😃.
We strolled around a bit, bought nice sweaters, and ate well. Occasionally, there is also a beer in a Belgian beer bar 😅! However, on the last campsite, I got a 6-pack of beer from a Swiss emigrant, I couldn't just leave it there. Gianna rarely drinks alcohol, which is exemplary!
All in all, we really liked Perth. The city is located on the beautiful Swan River and many black swans swim leisurely around. Many beautifully designed city parks invite you to linger. From our small apartment, we could take a wonderful walk with our scaly friends (there are signs "Beware of Snakes" everywhere 🤨).
Perth is still manageable but nevertheless has some skyscrapers and lots of restaurants and shopping opportunities. The latter caused Gianna to struggle a bit when packing her backpack! Next time, we will take significantly less with us so that we can buy more. And yes, there will definitely be a next time 😜.
Although everyday life sets in with time, it is still exciting to discover new things.
Everyday life with Gianna is usually quite funny, especially when she has her 5 minutes and annoys the whole airport with her singing. "A llama flies to Yokohama," do you know the song? Gianna doesn't either, but she sings anyway! Loud, wrong but happy 😅!
During the flight to Adelaide, it suddenly became quiet around the big party queen. 🎊The turbulence was tedious and my damn fear of flying kept me from sleeping the night before. In the plane, it was bearable for me, but Gianna struggled. Unfortunately, such a trip would be a bit tedious without a plane. At least we always sit behind the wings where the survival rate is 77%. To get my fear of flying under control, I like to read statistics. We would survive a crash with 96% certainty, but the chance of crashing is 1 in 29 million anyway.
But all these numbers don't really matter to us because as soon as there is too much turbulence, our peace is over 🙀. Luckily, we only have at least 6 more flights to go..🤮
Our flight to Adelaide was delayed. Nevertheless, Mrs. Berger got her vegetarian meal first.
Our "hotel," if you can call it that, is actually a room above a bar. Totally cool! With a shared bathroom and live music all day long. And yet we thought it was cool and not as boring as a normal hotel.
Sunday was schnitzel day and our Angus beef schnitzel for $20 was covered with mozzarella-tomato-pesto sauce. Basically meat and pizza in one dish 👍.
