On November 28th, it finally happened and my plane landed in Melbourne. At the airport, I quickly found my way and took a shuttle bus to my hotel. And as it turned out, it was a very good idea to spend the first two nights in a hotel because jet lag threw me off track for the first 2-3 days.
So during the first few days, I mainly spent my time sleeping (at times when you're not supposed to sleep) and lying awake in bed (at times when you're supposed to sleep). 😂
After 3 days, I moved to a hostel that I booked for 2 weeks but ended up staying there for 5 weeks. The hostel was a bit smaller and that's why we backpackers were like a little family there. I made great friends from all different countries like Japan, Chile, Italy, France, Germany, etc.... 🌏
It didn't take long for me to fall head over heels in love with the city. The atmosphere and the people there are unique in my opinion. If I ever return to Australia one day, Melbourne will definitely be my first destination! ♥️
During the 5 weeks I spent in Melbourne, I explored all sorts of beaches and neighborhoods. Two road trips to explore the area were also included, but you'll see that in the next post. 😊
