Hello there,
today we wanted to take a whole day to hike here in Kluane National Park.

The first trail was the Soldier's Summit Trail. It is a 1km long trail right by the road, with information boards along the way. There was a lot of information about the history of the First Nations and the construction of the Alaska Highway in the mid-20th century. We were also able to see the Dall Sheep from up there, standing high in the mountains.

After this short trail, we wanted to do a longer one. This one first led through the forest before going up the mountain. But the 5km climb was definitely worth it, because from up there we had a great view of the other mountains and even caught a glimpse of Kluane Lake in the distance. The descent was faster as expected, and despite all the bear warnings, we were lucky not to encounter any wildlife on the way.

After the hike, we drove back to the campsite where we had slept the previous night. In the evening, we made a campfire and even chopped wood with an axe :-) The wood was available for free at the campsite, we just had to chop it with our axe. All fingers were still intact, so we were able to make S'mores over the fire, which is a marshmallow and a piece of chocolate between two crackers.
